Job summary

Dollar General is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first mindset, under the Store Manager's direction.

You will supervise store staff, assist with merchandising, open and close the store, manage deposits, and ensure policies are followed to maximize profitability and minimize losses.

Strong communication, training, and inventory control skills are essential, along with a willingness to step in when the Store Manager is unavailable.

Qualifications

• Customer service leadership experience required.
• Ability to mentor and train employees.
• Strong math and cash handling skills.
• Ability to read policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling and training; conduct safety meetings.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; manage damages, markdowns, and deposits.
• Assist with planograms and ensure compliant merchandising.
• Ensure cash control, refunds/overrides, and bank deposits.
• Assist store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
