Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-first store. Under the Store Manager, you will assist with supervision of staff, merchandise presentation, and deposits while protecting assets and reducing losses.

You will perform stocking, cashiering, and other duties to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction. The role requires flexibility to open/close two days weekly and support store leadership in the manager's absence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Experience in retail supervisory role is a plus.
• Ability to manage cash handling and deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, restocking and displaying according to planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control procedures; sign for refunds and deposits.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
