Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-focused store under the Store Manager’s guidance. You will supervise staff, assist with merchandising, deposits, and paperwork, and perform stocking and cashiering tasks to support profitability and loss prevention.

This role requires strong communication, organization, and cash handling skills, with prior retail or supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Customer service leadership and a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Ability to supervise staff and coordinate tasks.
• Experience with store operations including merchandising and deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate the register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings for employees.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages, markdowns, and scans.
• Support planograms and ensure shelves meet standards set by the Store Manager.
• Maintain financial integrity: cashier accountability, deposits, refunds, overrides.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
