Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise employees, manage merchandising, complete paperwork, and assist with deposits while protecting assets and reducing losses.

The role includes stocking, cashiering, and various duties to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, restocking, and display building per planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, control damages, and support cash handling controls.
• Ensure cash register accountability, deposits, and basic financial controls.
• Support Store Manager in the absence of the Store Manager.
