Job summary

O’Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance and operations in Wisconsin. The role requires leading the team in servicing customers and managing shifts in the manager’s absence, with bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

You will assist in staffing, coaching, training, and hiring while ensuring efficient processing of transfers, online orders, returns, and invoicing.

Qualifications

• Must have Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification.
• Preferred: Certified Parts Professional Certification and ASE Certification.
• Spanish language skills are highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Manage store operations and appearance, and lead during the Store Manager’s absence or opposing shifts.
• Ensure adequate staffing at the retail sales counter during peak hours (lunch, late afternoons, evenings, weekends).
• Assist in setting team member goals, provide feedback, coach/mentor, and ensure training is up to date.
• Participate in hiring by recruiting, interviewing, and collaborating with management to select qualified team members.
• Ensure calls are answered per company policy and that inquiries are handled promptly.
• Oversee buy online/ship to store, hub, and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders; contact customers on shipment arrivals as needed.
• Utilize outside purchase order ledger for special orders and outside purchases; process efficiently.
• Ensure returns and exchanges are processed with correct refunds and proper merchandising handling.
• Invoicing of all merchandise (including core charges and warranties) before product leaves the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks to the team.
• Ensure adherence to posted work schedules and proper clock in/out procedures.
• Perform opening/closing duties, day-end procedures, safe money handling, and secure deliveries.
• Assist in maintaining store building, parking lot, signage/lighting, hardware, service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
• All other duties as assigned.
