Job summary

ALDI USA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Illinois to supervise day-to-day store activities, manage schedules, and develop operational action plans. You will identify training opportunities to develop and grow the team while upholding store standards and company policies.

The role offers a starting wage of $25.50 per hour with a planned increase to $26.50 in year 2, 38 hours per week, and full-time employment with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role.
• At least 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment.
• Prior management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results.
• Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports.
• Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports to improve performance.
• Model company values to foster teamwork and membership among employees.
• Monitor competitive environment and advise adjustments to maintain ALDI’s position.
• Provide product feedback and suggest new items or discontinue items as needed.
• Participate in interviewing store personnel.
• Communicate weekly information and major milestones to the team.
• Ensure adherence to inventory, handling, and cash control procedures.
• Maintain proper stock levels and merchandise products neatly to maximize sales.
• Supervise day-to-day operations and escalate issues as needed.
• Ensure high levels of customer service and compliance with company policies.
