Job summary

ALDI is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the store leader in driving performance, supervising daily activities, and developing the team. The role focuses on improving results, maintaining inventory discipline, and ensuring strong customer service in a fast-paced environment.

The position offers full-time hours, competitive wages starting at $26.50/hr with a planned increase to $27.50/hr in year two, and a comprehensive benefits package anchored by ALDI’s strong policy framework.

Qualifications

• You must be at least 18 years old to be employed for this role at ALDI.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results.
• Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports.
• Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports.
• Model ALDI's core values to foster teamwork and engagement.
• Monitor community competition and suggest adjustments to maintain ALDI's position.
• Provide product feedback and recommendations on items to carry or discontinue.
• Participate in interviews for store personnel.
• Communicate weekly updates, milestones, developments, and concerns.
• Ensure adherence to inventory procedures, handling guidelines, and cash control policies.
• Resolve operational customer concerns in the direct leader's absence.
• Identify hazards and maintain store equipment and ergonomics.
• Maintain store cleanliness and proper signage at all times.
• Assist with stock levels and product ordering.
• Merchandise products to maximize sales and ensure fresh signage.
• Support payroll and loss control efforts and training for new employees.
• Supervise day-to-day operations and escalate issues as needed.
• Ensure tasks are completed timely to deliver high customer service.
