Job summary

Dollar Tree seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations and deliver excellent customer service. You will assist with opening/closing procedures, merchandise organization, and stock transfers from delivery to floor while maintaining seasonal displays.

You will also help supervise Store Associates, handle payroll and scheduling, process directives, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail/grocery/drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs, stand, walk, and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal displays.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling; assist with loss prevention.
• Maintain clean and organized store areas and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
