Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in leading a fast-paced retail team. You will supervise staff, help manage merchandise, and ensure deposits are completed accurately while protecting company assets.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, scheduling, training, safety meetings, and maintaining planograms and inventory. A high school diploma and retail supervisory exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read diagrams, safety rules, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math and cashier-related tasks.
• Knowledge of cash handling, deposits and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers, operate cash register, and itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, restocking and displays as directed.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory and planograms; ensure presentation aligns with standards.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and deposits.
