Job summary

O’Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance and operations. This role may lead the store team in the manager’s absence and during opposing shifts, with a focus on servicing customers.

The ideal candidate will supervise daily service levels, assist in hiring and training, and ensure efficient checkout, returns, and stock movements.

Qualifications

• Sales Specialist Training required.
• Assistant Manager Certification required.
• RSS Certification required.
• Spanish language fluency highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service levels on the showroom and ensure proper execution of service programs.
• Work with the Store Manager to ensure adequate staffing during peak hours.
• Assist the Store Manager with setting team goals, coaching, and training.
• Assist in hiring tasks by coordinating interviews and candidate evaluation.
• Ensure telephone coverage per company policy.
• Process buy online/ship to store, hub, and store-to-store transfers promptly and notify customers of shipments.
• Utilize the outside purchase order ledger for specials and outside purchases.
• Ensure returns/exchanges are processed efficiently and refunds issued correctly.
• Invoicing of merchandise including cores and warranties prior to shipment.
• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with schedules, approvals, and clock-ins/out.
• Perform all opening/closing duties, including bank deposits and security checks.
• Maintain store building, signage, lighting, and delivery vehicles.
• All other duties as assigned.
