Job summary

Family Dollar in Lexington, KY is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations and customer service. You will help organize merchandise, supervise associates, and contribute to a safe, friendly shopping environment.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with prior retail or store management experience preferred. This is a full-time position with responsibilities including opening/closing and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Store management experience in retail, grocery or drug store preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks (walking, standing, bending)

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Support Store Manager in coaching and developing Store Associates
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and protect assets
