Kroger Co. in Little Rock is seeking a Store Manager/Assistant Store Manager to oversee store operations and drive performance. You will support scheduling, security, safety, sanitation, ordering and HR duties while modeling Kroger’s values in a fast-paced retail environment.

Role involves leading teams, developing action plans, achieving budgets and improving customer service, with opportunities for career growth and involvement with community and union relations where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience as department manager, service manager, or equivalent.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing associates to hit goals.
• Experience using KPIs, metrics and data insights for decisions.
• Collaborative across departments to drive store performance.
• Proven success in customer experience, sales growth and ops.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while leading through change.
• Strong track record of independently driving improvements.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager and associates in delivering a best-in-class customer experience.
• Lead teams in planning and executing merchandising and operating initiatives.
• Develop action plans from Associate Insight survey results.
• Identify store opportunities and implement timely solutions.
• Model exceptional customer service and resolve issues.
• Manage total store operations in the manager’s absence.
• Achieve and exceed weekly, period and annual budgets and safety goals.
• Drive sales with department managers to maximize profits and minimize shrink.
• Discuss budgets and performance with associates and leaders.
• Respond to competitive landscape and adjust plans accordingly.
• Promote inclusive leadership and coordinated teamwork.
• Coordinate with field staff to meet sales/profit goals.
• Build relationships with local community organizations and union reps if applicable.
• Communicate necessary information to staff to carry out duties.
• Serve as liaison to store/district managers on merchandising and operations.
• Assist with staffing, retention and performance feedback.
• Support labor management and cost controls daily.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Encourage adoption of technology to improve operations.
• Develop department leaders and emerging talent for future roles.
• Supervise direct reports and conduct performance reviews.
