Job summary

Chevron Stations is seeking a Customer Service Representative to support day-to-day station operations in a fast-paced retail environment in California. You will assist the Station Manager, oversee staff in their absence, and ensure cashier transactions, stock, and safety procedures are performed to CSI standards.

The role requires English proficiency, prior retail or fuel-related experience, and flexibility to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be sufficiently proficient in English to understand CSI policies, safety training, and job instructions, and to communicate with customers and coworkers.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced retail, food service or fuel environment, including cash handling and customer service experience.
• Demonstrated experience operating a cash register, computer console, and other related equipment, tools and computer software programs & applications.
• Knowledge and application of proper sanitation and safety requirements in food storage and serving.
• Available to work a variety of hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to handle challenging situations professionally and with good judgment.
• Ability to work both independently and in team settings.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills.
• High School graduate or equivalent and a minimum 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assist Station Manager in the day-to-day operations of the retail facility.
• Maintain oversight of station operations and staff in the Station Manager’s absence.
• Provide work direction, motivation and coaching to staff during shifts.
• Support to adhere to safety, security, quality guidelines and CSI policies.
• Ensure compliance with wage & hour requirements and cash handling processes.
• Preserve safety using Loss Prevention processes and model safe behaviors.
• Maintain courteous professional contact with customers, coworkers and vendors.
• Perform all duties of Customer Service Representative as needed.
• Store Operations: provide work direction during shifts to cover customer service, stocking, cleaning and food-service.
• Control inventory, coordinate with other stations, and conduct mini-audits for stock levels.
• Use POS and other equipment to process transactions and train CSRs.
• Operate and maintain food service equipment and support CSRs.
• Report issues to Station Manager or Business Consultant.
• Support documentation and daily administrative tasks.
