Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to lead on the shop floor, support the Shop Manager, and ensure a fast, friendly customer experience. You will step in as Manager on Duty when needed, coordinating workflow and guiding the team to safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes coaching, opening/closing duties, and training new team members. Automotive experience is valued but not required; paid hands-on training is provided to learn Take 5 standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others.
• Commitment to following and maintaining facility and safety policies.
• Strong communication skills with ability to give direction and feedback.
• Reliable transportation to and from work location.

Responsibilities

• Complete our Certified Technician training.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed by coordinating workflow and guiding the team.
• Model fast, friendly customer service and address customer needs professionally.
• Ensure services are completed accurately while reinforcing procedures and safety standards.
• Support shop performance by identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Train new team members and provide coaching and feedback.
• Perform all Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and follow-up.
