Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is hiring an Assistant Shop Manager in Baytown, TX to support daily operations, lead a fast-paced team, and ensure a safe, high-quality customer experience. You’ll step in as Manager on Duty, train staff, and help drive continuous improvement while following Take 5 standards.

Automotive experience is valued but not required. Paid hands-on training is provided, with opportunities for advancement from shop roles into leadership as you grow with the Take 5 family.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others.
• Commitment to following facility and safety control policies.
• Strong communication skills and ability to provide direction, coaching, and feedback.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and solutions-focused during busy periods.
• Ability to meet applicable age and certification requirements, including Inspector Certification when required.
• Reliable transportation to and from your work location.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed by coordinating workflow and helping the team deliver safe, efficient, high-quality service.
• Model fast, friendly customer service, respond to customer needs, and resolve concerns professionally.
• Ensure services are completed accurately and consistently while reinforcing company procedures, safety requirements, and service standards.
• Support shop performance by identifying opportunities for improvement and taking on additional leadership responsibilities when the Shop Manager is unavailable.
• Train new team members, provide real-time coaching and feedback, reinforce expectations, and recognize strong performance.
• Perform all Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and operational follow-up.
