Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is hiring an Assistant Shop Manager in Ohio. This role blends hands-on leadership on the shop floor with daily operations support to the Shop Manager, ensuring fast, friendly service and a safe, efficient environment.

You’ll step in as Manager on Duty when needed, guiding the team, coaching new members, and upholding Take 5 standards. We provide paid training and a clear path from technician roles to leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Minimum 6 months experience leading or mentoring others in a fast-paced environment.
• A commitment to following and maintaining facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Strong communication skills and comfort providing direction, coaching, and feedback to team members.
• Initiative, accountability, and follow-through on responsibilities.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and solutions-focused during busy periods.
• Ability to meet applicable age and certification requirements, including Inspector Certification when required.
• Reliable transportation to and from your work location.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed by coordinating workflow and helping the team deliver safe, efficient, high-quality service.
• Model fast, friendly customer service, respond to customer needs, and resolve concerns professionally.
• Ensure services are completed accurately and consistently while reinforcing company procedures, safety requirements, and service standards.
• Support shop performance by identifying opportunities for improvement and taking on additional leadership responsibilities when the Shop Manager is unavailable.
• Train new team members, provide real-time coaching and feedback, reinforce expectations, and recognize strong performance.
• Perform all Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and operational follow-up.
