Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change in Virginia is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to help lead a fast-paced automotive team. You will assist the Shop Manager with daily operations, training, and delivering a friendly, efficient customer experience.

You will step in as Manager on Duty when needed, support inventory and reporting, and help drive safety and service standards across the shop. Automotive experience is valued but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to following and maintaining facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Reliable transportation to and from your work location.

Responsibilities

• Complete our Certified Technician training.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed by coordinating workflow and helping the team deliver safe, efficient, high-quality service.
• Model fast, friendly customer service, respond to customer needs, and resolve concerns professionally.
• Ensure services are completed accurately and consistently while reinforcing company procedures, safety requirements, and service standards.
• Support shop performance by identifying opportunities for improvement and taking on additional leadership responsibilities when the Shop Manager is unavailable.
• Train new team members, provide real-time coaching and feedback, reinforce expectations, and recognize strong performance.
• Perform all Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and operational follow-up.
