Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to lead a fast-paced team on the shop floor. You will support the Shop Manager with daily operations, team development, and a fast, friendly customer experience, stepping in as Manager on Duty when needed.

We provide paid hands-on training to teach the Take 5 way. Automotive experience is valued but not required, and there are clear growth paths from shop roles into leadership positions through strong performance.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• 6+ months of experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others.
• Commitment to following and maintaining facility and safety policies and practices.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to direct, coach, and provide feedback.
• Initiative, accountability, and follow-through on responsibilities.
• Ability to stay calm, organized, and solutions-focused during busy periods.
• Reliable transportation to work location.
• Must meet age and certification requirements including Inspector Certification when required.

Responsibilities

• Complete our Certified Technician training.
• Serve as Manager on Duty, coordinating workflow and ensuring safe, efficient service.
• Model fast, friendly customer service and respond to needs.
• Ensure services are completed accurately while upholding procedures and safety.
• Support shop performance by identifying improvement opportunities.
• Train new team members and provide real-time coaching.
• Perform Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and follow-up.
