Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to help lead a fast-paced team and drive a high-quality customer experience. You will support daily operations, develop the team, and step in as Manager on Duty when needed, ensuring safety, efficiency and service standards are met.

Paid hands-on training is provided; automotive experience is valued but not required. This role offers clear career growth from shop levels into leadership positions through strong performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others.
• Commitment to following facility and safety policies.
• Strong communication skills for directing and giving feedback.
• Accountability and follow-through on responsibilities.
• Calm, organized, and solutions-focused during peak periods.
• Ability to meet age and certification requirements, including Inspector Certification where required.
• Reliable transportation to and from the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Support the Shop Manager with daily operations and team development.
• Step in as Manager on Duty when needed to keep the shop running smoothly.
• Provide fast, friendly customer service and resolve concerns professionally.
• Ensure services are completed accurately while following procedures and safety rules.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and assume additional leadership tasks when needed.
• Train new team members and provide real-time coaching and feedback.
• Perform Certified Technician and Lead Technician duties as required.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and follow-up tasks.
