Take 5 Oil Change in New Berlin, WI is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager who thrives on leading a fast-paced team and delivering a friendly, safe customer experience. You will support the Shop Manager, step in as Manager on Duty, train new crew, coach performance, and help the shop run smoothly.

You don’t need automotive technical experience, but you should bring solid customer service and leadership skills, reliability, and a commitment to safety and quality service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others.
• Commitment to following and maintaining facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Strong communication skills and comfort providing direction, coaching, and feedback to team members.
• Initiative, accountability, and follow-through on responsibilities.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and solutions-focused during busy periods.
• Ability to meet applicable age and certification requirements, including Inspector Certification when required.
• Reliable transportation to and from your work location.

Responsibilities

• Assist Shop Manager with daily operations and team development.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed by coordinating workflow and helping the team deliver safe, efficient, high-quality service.
• Model fast, friendly customer service, respond to customer needs, and resolve concerns professionally.
• Ensure services are completed accurately and consistently while reinforcing company procedures, safety requirements, and service standards.
• Support shop performance by identifying opportunities for improvement and taking on additional leadership responsibilities when the Shop Manager is unavailable.
• Train new team members, provide real-time coaching and feedback, reinforce expectations, and recognize strong performance.
• Perform all Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and operational follow-up.
