Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is looking for an Assistant Shop Manager to help lead a fast-paced team on the shop floor. You will support the Shop Manager with daily operations, team development, and a quick, friendly customer experience, stepping in as Manager on Duty when needed.

We provide paid, hands-on training to teach the Take 5 way. Automotive experience is valued, but not required, with clear career growth paths through strong performance and consistency.

Qualifications

• 6 months’ customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• 6 months’ experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others.
• Commitment to following facility and safety policies and practices.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to give direction and feedback.
• Initiative, accountability and follow-through on responsibilities.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and solve problems during busy periods.
• Must meet age and certification requirements, including Inspector Certification where required.
• Reliable transportation to and from work location.

Responsibilities

• Complete our Certified Technician training.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed, coordinating workflow and helping the team deliver safe, efficient, high-quality service.
• Model fast, friendly customer service, respond to customer needs, and resolve concerns professionally.
• Ensure services are completed accurately and consistently while reinforcing company procedures, safety requirements, and service standards.
• Support shop performance by identifying opportunities for improvement and taking on additional leadership responsibilities when the Shop Manager is unavailable.
• Train new team members, provide real-time coaching and feedback, reinforce expectations, and recognize strong performance.
• Perform all Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and operational follow-up.
