Job summary

The Town of Chapel Hill is seeking an Assistant Recreation Supervisor for Hargraves Community Center in Chapel Hill, NC. You will assist with daily programming, youth and teen activities, afterschool programs, and community events, while supporting staff and volunteers to ensure quality services.

Responsibilities include budgeting, marketing, contract work, and maintaining safety/compliance. A strong focus on community engagement and program development is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Two or more years’ experience in parks and recreation in community centers, youth/teen programming, afterschool and/or day camps.
• Minimum 1 year experience with lead or senior capacity in parks and recreation or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervision and management of operations and programming of Hargraves Community Center and Nate Davis Senior Gymnasiums.
• Plan and evaluate youth/teen programs, afterschool programs, and community events.
• Coordinate marketing campaigns and materials for programs and events.
• Assist with budgeting, revenues/expenses, and vendor contracts.
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and volunteers.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and quality in programming and events.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
