WinnCompanies is seeking an Assistant Property Manager to join our team at Clara E. Chan Lee, a 97-unit affordable and senior living community located in Oakland, CA.

In this role, you will support the Property Manager with daily operations including leasing, resident relations, rent collections, accounts payable/receivable, and general property administration. This onsite position includes a 1-bedroom housing unit with typical hours Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Up to 1 year of property management or related experience.
  • Current driver's license in good standing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within property management.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day operations of a multifamily community, ensuring resident service and efficiency.
  • Assist with leasing activities, including tours, applications, recertifications, and renewals.
  • Monitor rent collections, post payments, and enforce collection policies.
  • Respond to resident concerns and maintain positive relations.
  • Prepare financial reports and property documentation, process invoices and AP/AR.

About the Opportunity

WinnCompanies is seeking an Assistant Property Manager to join our team at Clara E. Chan Lee, a 97-unit affordable and senior living residential community located in Oakland, CA.

In this role, you will support the Property Manager in the day-to-day property management operations of the community, including leasing, resident relations, rent collections, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and property administration. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in multifamily housing and property management.

Please note that the pay range for this position is $26.72- $40.38 per hour, depending on experience. Additionally, the selected candidate will typically work: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

This position is required to live onsite and comes with a 1-bedroom housing unit.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the day-to-day operations of a multifamily residential community, ensuring excellent resident service and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with leasing activities, including apartment tours, application processing, recertifications, and lease renewals.
  • Monitor rent collections, post payments, enforce collection policies, and assist with delinquency management.
  • Respond to resident concerns and help maintain positive resident relations and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare financial reports, resident correspondence, recertification notices, and other property documentation.
  • Process purchase orders, invoices, and accounts payable transactions.
  • Assist with property operations, financial administration, and occupancy-related activities.
  • Serve as acting Property Manager in the Manager's absence, as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Up to 1 year of experience in property management, leasing, customer service, administrative support, or a related field.
  • Up to 1 year of supervisory, team lead, leadership, or mentoring experience.
  • A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based business applications.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the property management industry.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse residents, colleagues, and vendors.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree.
  • 1-2 Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) experience.
  • Experience with Yardi, RealPage, or other property management software.
  • Experience in multifamily housing, affordable housing, HUD, or Section 8 environments.
  • Knowledge of leasing, resident retention, and property operations.
