Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Cost Controls to partner with the project manager from bid prep through client acceptance. Lead, coach, and mentor project team members to ensure successful delivery.

You will perform cost control, coordinate scopes, review A/P and changes, and lead subcontractor buyouts while guiding project engineers toward safe, timely completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of related previous experience.
• Current driver's license.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and coordinate diverse teams.
• Strong understanding of construction law and business practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost control and financial management.
• Work with Preconstruction on project estimate and schedule.
• Coordinate scopes of work and review pay applications and change requests.
• Partner with the Project Manager or Construction Executive on project delivery.
• Draft client proposals and manage subcontractors and trade partners.
• Lead project buyout and facilitate subcontractor coordination meetings.
