Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Cost Controls to partner with the project manager from bid preparation through final client acceptance. Lead, coach, and mentor project team members.

Responsibilities include cost control, coordinating scopes, reviewing pay applications, drafting proposals, and supervising subcontractor management to ensure safe, timely project completion. A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in construction-related field.
• Minimum five years of related experience.
• Strong understanding of cost control and project finance.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office and project/web apps.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost control and financial management for projects.
• Coordinate scopes of work with preconstruction on estimates and schedule.
• Review and compile pay applications, change orders, and other financial docs.
• Lead project buyout and subcontractor management.
• Provide direction to project team and mentor others.
• Draft client proposals and contract administration.
