Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (Energy) to join our La Salle, IL team. This on-site role supports the Project Manager, coordinating between field, project teams, and clients on complex electrical construction projects.

This position offers opportunities to lead meetings, manage RFIs and change orders, and partner with scheduling, procurement, and field teams to drive successful project delivery and close-out activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or similar preferred.
Three (3) or more years of experience specifically as a Project Engineer in electrical construction, or MEP experience in general contracting. Minimum five (5)+ years of related experience.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
Experience with electrical estimating and the ability to accurately estimate change order pricing.
Knowledge of Electrical Code and Civil Construction.
Prior experience in semi-remote jobsites, supervising others.

Responsibilities

Lead team meetings and provide guidance to Project Engineers and Project Coordinators in partnership with the Project Manager and field team.
Partners with scheduling department to gather all data required to populate CEI schedule.
Identifies cost impacts associated with RFIs, submittals, and design changes and provides timely notification.
Prices change orders consistently and in a timely manner for project manager review and approval.
Manages close out documents.
Coordinate commissioning activities w/ 3rd party. Tracks and follows up on open items.
Maintain strong working partnerships with vendors and subcontractors. Coordinates accurate material releases on time and consistent with project documents.
