Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Commercial Team and support a complex construction project.

This on-site role involves coordinating between the field team, project team, and customers, while supervising and guiding Project Engineers and Coordinators under the Project Manager. You will work with vendors and subcontractors to manage submittals, logs, and project documentation.

Qualifications

• Three (3) or more years of experience specifically as a Project Engineer in electrical construction, or MEP experience in general contracting.
• Minimum five (5)+ years of related experience, including some time managing smaller projects.
• Valid state-issued driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; this position is not eligible for sponsorship.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead team meetings and provide guidance to Project Engineers and Project Coordinators in partnership with the Project Manager and field team.
• Partners with scheduling department to gather data required to populate CEI schedule.
• Identifies cost impacts associated with RFIs, submittals, and design changes and provides timely notification.
• Prices change orders consistently and in a timely manner for project manager review and approval.
• Manages close out documents.
• Coordinate commissioning activities with 3rd party. Tracks and follows up on open items.
• Maintain strong working partnerships with vendors and subcontractors. Coordinates accurate material releases on time and consistent with project documents.
