Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support energy-sector construction projects in Chicagoland, IL. The role coordinates field and project teams, reviews submittals, RFIs, change orders and closeout documents under the Project Manager.

You will lead meetings with project engineers and coordinators, help gather scheduling data, and ensure timely material releases while maintaining strong vendor and subcontractor partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or similar.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Three or more years of experience as a Project Engineer in electrical construction or MEP in general contracting; five+ years total with some project management experience.
• Valid state driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Lead team meetings and guide Project Engineers and Coordinators with the Project Manager and field team.
• Coordinate with scheduling to gather data for CEI schedule.
• Identify cost impacts from RFIs, submittals, and design changes; notify promptly.
• Price change orders for PM review and approval.
• Manage project closeout documents and commissioning activities with 3rd parties.
