Job summary

Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative (NOVEC) is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to plan and coordinate electric infrastructure projects and support timely, within-budget delivery. The role involves managing tasks, schedules, reporting, and stakeholder coordination under the guidance of project managers.

You will contribute to cost tracking, prepare estimates and cash flows, maintain contracts and documentation, and help ensure project success in a dynamic utility environment.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration is required or a combination may be considered.
• 2-4 years of related electric utility experience is required.
• CAPM and Agile fundamentals are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage assigned project tasks and deliverables and assist project managers in achieving objectives.
• Review goals, milestones, schedules, and assigned work to ensure progress and feasibility.
• Set up and conduct status and issue meetings; prepare notes and action items.
• Create and deliver project performance, status, financial, and closeout reports.
• Provide monthly spending projections and expenditure reports; track against budget.
• Review invoices and analyze expenditures for accuracy and appropriate charging.
• Prepare preliminary/detailed estimates and cash flows; coordinate with design and construction units.
• Maintain project schedules, contracts, invoices, and reports.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on status and deliverables.
