Job summary

Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative (NOVEC) is hiring a supervisor for the system construction department in the Northern Virginia service area. The role leads daily operations, ensures safety compliance, and coordinates with contractors to deliver reliable power infrastructure.

The position requires a relevant associate degree and 5+ years of experience in transmission/distribution construction, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Transmission and distribution construction/maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily activities of the system construction department.
• Inspects crew activities for compliance with standards and safety.
• Reviews audits and approves contractor invoices; coordinates revisions.
• Maintains as-built information and WMIS database.
• Leads installation of equipment by NOVEC staff and contractors.
• Interprets specifications and ensures work conforms to contracts.
• Develops staff through training, coaching, and performance management.
