Job summary
Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative (NOVEC) seeks an experienced electrical engineer to oversee design, analysis, and specification development for the electric distribution system. This role emphasizes reliability, cost-effectiveness, and advanced engineering practices in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field is required.
- 8+ years in the electric power industry or 5+ years with EIT; licensed recommended.
- NCEES EIT certification is preferred.
- Strong communication and budgeting skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates equipment by testing and analyzing results; recommends changes.
- Designs electrical systems, logic, instrumentation, and related engineering work.
- Leads the Specification Committee for construction specs and practices.
- Develops load forecasting and system improvement plans; monitors schedules.
- Coordinates with manufacturers on new materials and resolves issues.
