Champion Home Builders, Inc. in Decatur, IN seeks an Assistant Production Manager to support the Production Manager by directing daily manufacturing activities and guiding foremen.

You will help enforce safety policies, coordinate with procurement, maintenance and quality control, and work to improve product quality and production efficiency. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to lead a large team under deadlines, and a commitment to safety in a growing

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates production in the absence of the Production Manager or when on site, follows manager's direction.
• Provides on-the-job guidance and training to Foremen.
• Enforces safety policies with Foremen and production employees.
• Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control to optimize resource use.
• Reviews production and quality control reports to identify nonconformities and improve processes.
• Develops and implements operating methods to improve product quality.
• Revises schedules and priorities due to equipment failure or problems.
• Consults with engineering to modify machines for better production and quality.
