Champion Home Builders, Inc. seeks an Assistant Production Manager to join our team in the Decatur, IN region. The role directs production activities and supports the Production Manager when on site, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

The ideal candidate will coordinate with procurement, maintenance, and engineering to optimize resources, improve quality, and maintain production schedules. Exempt status and a comparable background are expected.

• Must possess excellent organizational skills.
• Must have strong and clear communication skills.
• Problem solving and analytical skills along with an ability to lead a large team.
• Must be flexible enough to work under stringent deadlines and high work pressure on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Provides on the job guidance and training to Foreman.
• Enforces safety policies with Foremen and production employees.
• Coordinates personnel management with Human Resources department.
• Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
• Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
• Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
• Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems.
• Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
