Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Assistant Practice Manager to support the Practice Manager, inspire the team, deliver exceptional patient care, and achieve meaningful business results on the practice floor.

The role develops leadership capabilities, supports multiple practice functions such as patient care coordination, optical sales, and daily routines, and is designed to grow readiness for expanded responsibility over time.

Qualifications

• Leadership capability required, may include coaching others or owning a business area.
• Strong communication, organization, collaboration in a fast-paced patient care environment.
• Willingness to learn multiple practice positions to support patient care and operations.

Responsibilities

• Support the Practice Manager with daily operations, patient flow, team coordination, service execution, and real-time practice needs.
• Work on the practice floor assisting across functions to support patient care, staffing gaps, and operational execution.
• Learn and support key practice roles such as patient care coordination, optical sales and service, technician/clinical support, and daily routines.
• Support assigned areas such as front desk flow, optical floor support, and clinical/technician workflows.
• Communicate daily priorities, role expectations, and service standards to team members.
• Partner with the Practice Manager and Optometrist to support exam flow and patient handoffs.
• Reinforce patient-centered service behaviors and timely follow-up.
• Observe team performance and support coaching and training reinforcement.
• Assist with onboarding, coaching, and team development activities.
• Identify patient service concerns and escalate as needed.
• Review basic reporting and daily results to identify trends and improvements.
• Support readiness tasks like opening/closing routines, cleanliness, and supplies.
• Participate in interviews and onboarding as requested by the Practice Manager.
• Serve as designated practice contact in the Manager’s absence when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
