Job summary

SONIC Drive-In in Oak Grove, Kentucky is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in daily restaurant operations and staff leadership. You will help train team members and ensure clean, safe, and efficient service while delivering a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities include scheduling, inventory, cost controls, and opening/closing duties, with a focus on teamwork, compliance with policies, and maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months of restaurant management experience (QSR) or one year entry level retail management experience required. Experience running shifts without supervision.
• Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• General knowledge and understanding of the restaurant industry or retail operations required.
• Effective communication skills; basic math, reading and computer skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work with autonomy once given directions; ability to multi-task and successfully solve problems.
• Willingness to abide by the appearance, uniform and hygiene standards at SONIC.
• Friendly and smiling faces that enjoy providing courteous food service to our guests!

Responsibilities

• Assists the General Manager in managing drive-in restaurant operations.
• Trains and supports other employees to ensure quality food in a clean, safe and efficient manner.
• Directs and assigns staff to meet service standards.
• Performs opening and/or closing duties.
• Monitors staffing levels, inventory levels and food cost control.
• Completes weekly inventory and maintains records.
• Reinforces a customer service mentality and addresses guest requests promptly.
• Responds to guest complaints and assists in resolving issues.
