theWit Hotel in Chicago seeks an Assistant Manager for the State & Lake Chicago Tavern to oversee daily operations, lead a high-volume hospitality team, and maintain service standards across all shifts. You will manage staff, training, guest services, and collaborate with the GM on costs, events, and inventory, with a focus on guest satisfaction and operational excellence.

This role requires strong leadership, communication, and familiarity with OpenTable, Micros, and Microsoft Office; nights

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of recent experience in a similar role.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with OpenTable, Micros, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Ensure day-to-day business operations run smoothly
• Assist with training and administrative duties; assist financials / statement preparation; and assist the GM with guest service inquiries
• Organize, run and supervise daily opening and closing shifts with bank reconciliations and pre-shifts
• Manage employees, including training, coaching, and disciplining
• Support private events and community initiatives
• Assist GM in managing costs and driving sales toward financial goals
• Oversee R&M management for the restaurant with contractors
• Execute monthly inventory
• Write schedules for Front of House staff
• Promote teamwork across teams
• Deal tactfully with guests, vendors and employees
• Work various shifts including early mornings, nights, weekends
