Job summary

Planet Fitness in Knoxville, TN is seeking an Assistant Manager to oversee front desk personnel and assist the General Manager. The role focuses on front of house operations, delivering superior member and guest service in a fast-paced club.

Responsibilities include interviewing and recruiting front desk staff, monitoring sales and inventory with GM, enforcing company standards, covering shifts, mentoring staff, and coordinating disciplinary actions with HR.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
• 6 month Supervisor or Manager experience in a restaurant or retail environment in a high volume atmosphere is preferred.
• Bi-lingual preferred.
• Hours (Initial training hours may vary; availability is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Drive club metrics in alignment with business performance.
• Assist in interviewing and recruitment of front desk staff and fitness instructors.
• Monitor inventory and review sales with GM to identify opportunities and adjust execution.
• Uphold company standards; maintain a clean, friendly, well-maintained club.
• Mentor Front End employees to promote career growth through training and performance reviews.
• Coordinate disciplinary actions and terminations with GM, RM and HR.
• Cover shifts for call-outs or vacancies and assist with shift coverage when necessary.
• Oversee club audits to ensure cleanliness and organization in all areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Club Manager.
