Job Description for Assistant Manager at Johnston & Murphy

Pay Range : $17-$30 per hour (includes base pay + personal and store commissions)

Key Responsibilities of an Assistant Manager
  • Passion: Be dedicated to excellence, convey enthusiasm, and maintain a 'can do' attitude.
  • Meet deadlines consistently.
  • Utilize J&M sales tools to achieve sales objectives.
  • Use available resources for performance improvement and team education.
  • Represent the Brand: Act as an ambassador, create a premium store environment, and adhere to core values.
  • Network and recruit effectively.
  • Assist in interviewing and hiring using the PRIDE model.
  • Implement visual guidelines and maintain store appearance.
  • Follow personal presentation standards.
  • Deliver World Class Service with proper phone etiquette.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Communicate effectively, build relationships, and assist in training and coaching.
  • Implement and certify team in training programs.
  • Help in performance management and policy adherence.
  • Create and administer PRIDE Performance Plans and Evaluations.
  • Delivers Results: Achieve sales and financial goals, manage profitability, and execute company priorities.
  • Exceed sales plans and metrics.
  • Protect assets through inventory and cash management.
  • Plan weekly schedules to maximize sales and talent utilization.
  • Edge: Initiate and manage change effectively, make informed decisions, and ensure issues are resolved promptly.
Additional Abilities:
  • Assist in managing all performance levels.
  • Identify trends via market and competition analysis.
  • Use reports to analyze and communicate merchandising needs.
  • Collaborate with HR to resolve issues.
Requirements

  • Professional appearance and willingness to learn.
  • Stable employment history.
  • Physical demands include constant movement, reaching, standing, walking, and lifting at least 40 lbs.
