Job description

The primary technical expert responsible for ensuring excellence in complex fund accounting services through expertise and final review authority. This role serves as the ultimate subject matter expert for the team on complex accounting matters, leading technical decisions and process innovations while providing authoritative guidance on sophisticated client portfolios and advanced accounting modules.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Review fund accounting reports and other deliverables using prescribed guidelines and guidance
2. Maintain accurate and timely processing of fund accounting transactions
3. Support the review of fund accounting operations following established procedures
4. Liaise with internal stakeholders, addressing queries and issues
5. Ensure compliance with relevant standards, statutory requirements, and internal policies
6. Establish and maintain technical best practices
7. Maintain strong knowledge of client-specific requirements
8. Drive technical excellence and innovation in the processes
9. Lead development of technical standards and methodologies within the team
10. Review and maintain data accuracy in client reports and dashboards
11. Conduct performance reviews and liaise with the manager on career development of direct reports

Tasks:

1. Final review and sign-off of fund accounting activities and calculations
2. Document exceptions, prepare error reports, and propose corrective actions
3. Coordinate with team members and clients on deadlines and workload planning
4. Represent the team in meetings and internal discussions
5. Address complex client issues, making decisions on treatments and escalating when necessary
6. Review and approve SOPs before deployment
7. Monitor resolution of review comments and queries within agreed timeframes
8. Assist in client onboarding and change requests
9. Monitor client deliverables as per SLAs
10. Stay updated on methodologies, standards, and regulations, ensuring team compliance
11. Review staff schedules, manage time, and track work via timesheets
12. Participate in training programs
13. Collaborate across functions and support product development related to fund accounting
14. Ensure documentation is in place for new methodologies and updates
15. Minimize risk by ensuring procedural and audit compliance
16. Provide timely feedback to direct reports
17. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related; CPA or equivalent preferred

Professional Experience:

At least 6 years of relevant experience, including 4 in performance analytics, fund accounting, or financial reporting, with complex portfolios and advanced modules

Proven SME in technical accounting and process innovation
