Job summary

Pura Vida Miami is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations and mentor staff across roles. You will work closely with the Kitchen Manager to maintain quality, efficiency, and cost control while upholding brand standards and policy compliance.

The role emphasizes staff development, training in prep techniques, and ensuring health and safety compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a food production facility, fast paced restaurant or dining service.
• Food Handler certification or local/municipal requirements preferred.
• Organized and detail oriented with training experience.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting.
• Willingness to work closing shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Supervise kitchen staff and communicate expectations with the Kitchen Manager.
• Evaluate performance and provide coaching as needed.
• Assist recruitment, development and progressive discipline of personnel.
• Help streamline operations and manage food costs together with the Kitchen Manager.
• Ensure menu items align with quality standards and brand vision.
• Train staff on prep techniques and presentation standards.
• Enforce policies, procedures and customer satisfaction guidelines.
• Demonstrate proficiency across all kitchen positions.
