Panera Bread in South Burlington, VT is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead a bakery-cafe team and partner with the General Manager to drive operations, guest satisfaction and growth.

You will recruit, train, and develop staff, manage schedules, uphold food safety standards, and uphold Panera's guiding values in a fast-paced environment. Compensation reflects hourly pay with strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum age: 18 years
• 1+ years of restaurant management experience preferred
• ServSafe certification (or ability to achieve)
• Proven ability to drive positive results through strong business acumen
• Proven availability to run great shifts while directing, motivating, coaching and developing others
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for up to 6 hours
• Clear communication in a loud environment

Responsibilities

• Support your General Manager by making key decisions and problem solving
• Plan and manage staffing needs, shift scheduling, people development, and succession planning
• Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members while motivating and celebrating the team
• Assist with managing team performance to meet bakery-cafe goals and guest service standards
• Partner with the General Manager to develop managers and implement Panera's guiding values
• Maintain high guest delight through food quality, service, and team engagement
• Build relationships that drive long-term guest loyalty
• Ensure adherence to company policies and safety regulations
• Support cost control and inventory management
• Help cultivate a culture of warmth, belonging, growth and trust
