Job summary

CAVA is hiring an Assistant General Manager in San Diego, CA. You will partner with the General Manager and Area Leader to drive store performance, lead a team, and ensure operations meet high standards of service and profitability.

You will oversee schedules, forecasting, labor, inventory, and financial reporting, while coaching and developing hourly Team Members. This role requires flexible hours and a guest-first mindset.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of supervisory/management experience in restaurant or hospitality.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in managing daily restaurant operations including opening/closing.
• Ensure adherence to CAVA standards for food quality, service and cleanliness.
• Oversee inventory management, supply ordering and cost control.
• Supervise and support Team Members with training and feedback.
• Support with scheduling and staffing needs.
• Address Team Member issues to maintain a positive environment.
• Enhance guest experience by upholding service standards and addressing concerns.
• Lead by example in customer service and drive team to follow suit.
• Support managing financials: sales tracking, cash handling, budgets.
• Prepare financial reports and analyze performance for improvements.
• Ensure accurate financial record-keeping and cash procedures.
• Oversee food safety practices and team training on procedures.
• Handle administrative tasks like inventory and records maintenance.
• Assist in report preparation and action plan implementation.
• Participate in special projects to drive restaurant success.
