Applegreen USA Welcome Centers Central Services in New Jersey is seeking an Assistant General Manager to help run daily operations of our travel plaza team.

You will coach staff, oversee restaurant level performance, ensure brand standards, and maintain cash handling and inventory accuracy while delivering excellent customer service.

This role offers entry-level management growth, a fast-paced environment, and opportunities to learn essential managerial skills.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills with a sharp business acumen.
• Basic food safety understanding and practice.
• Ability and willingness to lift/push objects weighing over 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and communicate business objectives.
• Supervise non-management staff, assign work, coach shifts, and develop supervisors.
• Capable of acting in the absence of the general manager.
• Motivate staff and positively influence morale.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Address issues promptly.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Maintain brand standards and maximize brand/landlord/labor relations.
• Keep the restaurant clean, inviting, and on-brand.
• Manage cash daily and prepare reports per directives.
• Address customer needs and build long-term relationships.
• Maintain inventory accuracy with spot counts.
