Applegreen USA Welcome Centers in New Jersey seeks an Assistant General Manager to help ensure smooth daily operations and develop a high-performing team. The position offers entry-level managerial growth and opportunities to practice judgment and discretion in a fast-paced travel plaza setting.

You will lead shifts, uphold brand standards, manage cash and inventory, and nurture customer relationships while delivering exceptional service in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a quick service restaurant or similar management operations.
• Strong leadership and people-management abilities.
• Excellent customer service and positive attitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and business acumen.
• Willing to work flexible/open schedule.
• Ability to lift/push objects weighing over 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering performance feedback, setting goals, fostering teamwork, and communicating business objectives clearly.
• Supervise day-to-day store operations, assign work, coach, and develop shift Supervisors.
• Step in and perform duties in the absence of the General Manager.
• Motivate staff and maintain morale, especially during low periods.
• Maintain brand standards, cash handling, and inventory accuracy; ensure customer satisfaction.
• Address customer needs and build long-term relationships.
