Job summary

THE ONE GROUP is seeking an Assistant General Manager in Burlingame, CA to lead daily restaurant operations and drive a high-energy, guest-focused environment. You will mentor managers and hourly staff, oversee budgeting, be involved in beverage cost control, and partner with marketing to create memorable dining experiences.

This role requires 2 years of restaurant management experience (or 1 year as a Benihana manager), a high school diploma, and strong leadership in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Two years of restaurant management experience or one year as a Benihana manager with good performance.
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred.
• Proficiency in food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, personnel management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reports.
• Knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license where applicable.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must agree to background check.
• ServSafe certified alcohol service certified preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operations Leadership: Manage, lead, and mentor managers and hourly staff to maintain exceptional guest service.
• Team Development & Staffing: Analyze staffing needs and recruit top talent to build and maintain a high-performance team.
• Financial & Business Performance: Monitor sales forecasts, labor costs, and operating cash flow to maximize profitability.
• Marketing & Guest Relations: Collaborate with the Marketing Team to develop promotional ideas and initiatives and engage with regular guests and influencers.
