Job summary

JCK VENTURES LLC is seeking an Assistant General Manager for our hospitality group of restaurants in Cleveland. You will lead daily operations, manage staff, train, and uphold food safety and guest service standards.

Responsibilities include overseeing inventory, cash handling via Toast POS, hiring support, budgeting with the GM, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Evening and weekend shifts required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in restaurant management or as an Assistant Manager in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and guest service skills are required.
• Ability to train and supervise staff and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
• Experience with food safety standards and health regulations.
• Familiarity with inventory control and cash handling procedures.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our dynamic team. We are a growing Hospitality group with multiple award winning restaurants and a new concept to open later this year. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food service industry, independent restaurants as well as fine dining experiences. Experience with craft cocktails and high volume is necessary. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to manage staff effectively while ensuring operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of food quality and customer service.
• Assist in managing inventory control and food production processes to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
• Train, develop, and supervise staff members to enhance their skills in food preparation, cooking, and customer service.
• Implement and maintain food safety standards in compliance with health regulations.
• Manage cash handling procedures and ensure accuracy in POS transactions on the Toast POS system.
• Conduct interviews and assist in hiring processes for new staff members.
• Collaborate with the General Manager on budgeting and financial planning for the restaurant.
• Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and effective communication among staff.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction.
• Support shift management by coordinating staff schedules and overseeing daily operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in restaurant management or as an Assistant Manager in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience with Toast POS
• Strong knowledge of food handling, safety practices, and culinary techniques.
• Experience with inventory control systems and cash handling procedures.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train team members.
• Background in hospitality management or food service management is preferred.
• Familiarity with fine dining, casual dining, bar operations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
• Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on enhancing guest experiences.
