Job summary

Trinity Services Group in Houston, TX is seeking an Assistant Food Service Director to support the Food Service Director in running a large jail kitchen operation, including production planning and staff supervision.

You will supervise food service workers, ensure proper handling and safety, manage inventory, and maintain compliance with Health Department codes while reporting to the Food Service Director. The role offers premium benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience.
• Two years of management or supervisory experience in a food service position.
• Three years of experience working in food service.
• ServSafe Certification.
• Experience with purchasing, inventory, ordering and receiving.
• Experience managing and applying kitchen sanitation and safety standards and methods.
• Knowledge of basic accounting and mathematical abilities to complete necessary reports.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and with food service management systems.
• Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guide, train, and manage the facility food service operation.
• Hire, orient, train and issue corrective action to team members.
• Oversee quantities of food prepared and served per plan.
• Maintain inventory accuracy in advance preparation of menus.
• Ensure proper storage of food items.
• Maintain serving schedules per menu specifications safely.
• Maintain sanitary environment according to codes and regulations.
• Responsible for any state inspections of food service operation.
• Other duties as required.
