Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in North Carolina seeks an Assistant Executive Director to partner with the Executive Director on daily operations, P&L, and serving as the community's sales leader and HR point of contact.

You will oversee front desk staff, recruit, hire, onboard, and manage staff; lead retention efforts; ensure regulatory compliance and resident satisfaction; manage budgets and participate in tours and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in business, human services, gerontology, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in retirement housing, hospitality, or healthcare management in a leadership role.
• Proven sales history and ability to meet financial goals.
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
• Familiarity with CRM, ATS, HRIS, and related software.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and be the main contact for staff, residents, prospects, and partners.
• Direct oversight of front desk staff; train and develop the team.
• Support recruitment and maintain a high-performing staff environment.
• Manage hiring, promotions, discipline, and retention of personnel.
• Lead onboarding for new hires and orient staff.
• Provide leadership for staff and residents; resolve issues proactively.
• Oversee maintenance programs and regular inspections of facilities.
• Foster staff creativity to deliver high-quality, economical services.
• Maintain high resident satisfaction and up-to-date records.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and create a safe living/working environment.
• Support resident care programs and budget/cash flow management.
• Participate in in-house tours and events; act as Cogir liaison for corporate.
