Job summary

Louisiana State University of Alexandria is seeking an Assistant Director of Student Accounting and Bursar to lead Accounting Services, supervise staff, and ensure accurate student financial operations. The role covers cashiering, refunds, holds, balance communications, and reconciliation tasks, supporting timely and compliant processing throughout the semester.

Reporting to the Director, you will create payment plans, maintain codes in the SIS for fees and scholarships, and collaborate with tax

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in accounting/financial management or related field.
• Significant knowledge of student finance and accounting services with strong customer service focus.
• Ability to produce accurate reports, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cashiering operations and supervise staff and student workers.
• Review and process student refunds weekly.
• Create and monitor Bursar hold lists and apply to student accounts.
• Notify students of past due balances via email, text, and statements.
• Address complaints and resolve issues promptly for students.
