Louisiana State University at Alexandria is seeking a Staff Accountant to manage student and customer accounts receivable, communicate with external agencies, and support monthly AR reconciliations. The role reports to the Accounting department and requires strong communication and organizational skills.

The position is based on site in Alexandria, LA, with standard 40-hour weeks and potential overtime. A Bachelor’s degree and at least three years in accounting are expected, along with

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree required in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of three years of accounting/finance/business experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge and direct experience with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer competency required.
• Knowledge and direct experience with QuickBooks and Workday preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with multiple constituencies internal and external to an organization.

Mansioni

• Audit and review student and customer account receivables for past due balances.
• Contact students, customers, and external agencies regarding past due accounts.
• Communicate with various University departments to collect documentation for proof of debt.
• Prepare monthly collections file for submission to the Louisiana Attorney General's Office.
• Oversee all communications with the Attorney General's Office.
• Receive and process monthly payments from the Attorney General's office.
• Invoice all external agencies and affiliates, including military divisions, Louisiana Workforce, and school boards.
• Reconcile weekly financial aid disbursements.
• Assist Director of Accounting Services with monthly AR reconciliations.
• Assist at cashiering window as needed.
• Assist in implementation and upkeep of internal controls.
